A good photographer is nothing without a model — a simple fact, and US photographer Rick Day is surely aware of it. Well, the models in his new photo book PIONEERS, published by Bruno Gmünder, are beyond great. With passion and discipline they shaped their bodies till you can examine the muscle structure of the male body. But looking at them requires extreme self‐control, if you want to focus on the anatomy instead of rhapsodizing about Day’s marvelous models.

While in his first photo book PLAYERS, which became an international bestseller, Day portrayed sportsmen in very simple settings he now presents a series of stunning outdoor shoots. Whether rocks, the desert, or the sea Day has his men fight the elements — unique images full of energy. Even in the town house these hunks are incredibly hot eye‐ catchers. The 128 pages of PIONEERS are all about excellent photo art and breathtaking men.
